Our Story

Welcome to Pig Pen Clothing, where every stitch tells a story of family, tradition, and timeless charm.

Our roots run deep – back to a warm bustling sewing room filled with the hum of sewing machines and the gentle guidance of our mother’s hands. She taught all five of her daughters to sew as soon as we could reach the pedal of the sewing machine. I began my own sewing adventure at the age of six on mum’s old treadle machine, my small hands guiding fabric under the needle. Those early lessons weren’t just about fabric and thread – they were about patience, creativity, and the joy of making something beautiful with care.

Here, we create handmade, small batch dresses inspired by the whimsy, charm, and innocence of vintage styles – the kind of pieces made for twirling in the sunshine, picking wildflowers, climbing trees, and sloshing in muddy puddles. Each dress is part of the slow fashion movement, crafted with love, attention to detail, and a deep respect for quality over quantity.

We believe childhood is fleeting and magical, and that the clothes a little girl wears should reflect that – soft cottons, delicate trims, and silhouettes that feel like they’ve stepped out of a storybook. These aren’t just dresses, they’re keepsakes. Our designs are meant to be cherished, passed down, and for moments that will be remembered long after the dress is outgrown.

From our hands to yours – thank you for letting Pig Pen be a part of your family’s story. We hope each dress brings as much joy to your home as making them brings ours.
